An extraordinary route that leads to the summit of Etna, the highest and most imposing active volcano in Europe, at an altitude of 3,326 meters, in a majestic and almost lunar environment.

Detailed itinerary

The meeting is scheduled at Piano Provenzana (North Etna), where equipment checks and initial briefing take place. From the Piano Provenzana service center, you depart aboard 4×4 jeeps, climbing from an altitude of 1,800 to 2,900 meters. From here the trekking towards the summit area begins, which in about two hours of walking leads to the volcano’s peak.

The time spent at the summit can vary depending on the volcanic activity at the moment, but always offering an unforgettable experience among fumaroles, recent lava flows and breathtaking views.

The descent takes place along the sandy slopes down to an altitude of 2,800 meters, offering a spectacular perspective of Valle del Bove, before returning by 4×4 jeep to Piano Provenzana.

Important information

The tour crosses extensive lava fields and leads to the summit area, where you can closely observe the activity of the central craters and breathe in the powerful and mysterious atmosphere of one of the most extraordinary places on the planet.

The descent along the sandy slopes is a fun and scenic experience, with a privileged viewpoint over Valle del Bove.

The excursion is suitable for moderately trained people, accustomed to walking for several hours in mountain environments, and is recommended for adults and children over 10 years old. It is a demanding route, both due to the elevation gain and type of terrain, and due to the altitude.

The itinerary may be subject to changes or cancellations in case of adverse weather conditions, intense volcanic activity or safety reasons.
